I was delighted, as a member of Exeter Philharmonic Choir, to have the opportunity to work with Patrick Hawes recently. Patrick was down in Exeter to record his work The Lazarus Requiem with the Exeter Philharmonic and the Exeter Cathedral choirs.
As a composer, working on Patrick’s piece has been stimulated and inspiring. As a singer, to be directed by the composer so passionate about the work, added new energy and excitement. Patrick will return to Devon on 17th March 2012 to conduct the choirs in a performance of the work in Exeter Cathedral, and the CD will be launched at the concert.
